BEN ROBINSON: MAGICIAN OF MANY "FIRSTS"

Ben Robinson is a magician of many "firsts" in an ancient art.

He is the first magician to write a hard back book on only one illusion the most dangerous magical stunt of all, catching a bullet in the teeth (Twelve Have Died, 1986). He's been presented with two awards for this book. He is the first magician to lecture on the paranormal (extreme coincidences known as "synchronicity") at the Parapsychology Foundation (1999). His work was later produced by Metro-Video Productions on CD as Ben Robinson on Synchronicity. He is also the first professional magician to trek to and perform at the Base Camp of Mt. Everest (1989).

The legendary Broadway and avant-garde producer Lyn Austin also chose Robinson as the only one-man show ever produced in the 50-year history of her award-winning Music-Theatre Group (Out Of Order, 1988). The reviews called his performance a "Must See!"
Ben Robinson is the only mystery worker to be presented with both the Milbourne Christopher Foundation award and the Society of American Magicians Leslie R. Guest Award of Excellence. After 9/11 the NYPD presented him with an honorary shield for his relief efforts.

He considers his greatest achievement to have brought smiles and laughter to some of the oldest HIV patients known, at the Center for Special Studies at NY Presbyterian Hospital.
