BEN ROBINSON'S MAGIC DEMO REEL!!!

Catching bullets in his teeth, trekking to Mount Everest, performing at Lincoln Center in NewYork City, and specializing in close-up magic for small groups at special events worldwide are seen in Ben Robinson's Magic Demo, via You Tube.com! Click Here.

June 17–NYC: Ben Robinson provides an article "The Cervon Legacy" for the brand new sold-out Castle Notebooks by the one and only Bruce Cervon. Since Cervon's passing, his private notebooks have been published in a limited edition of 500, selling for a whopping $200 a shot. Ben Robinson was asked by Cervon's widow to write a rememberance of her husband who Robinson never met, but saw on at least three pivotal occassions as a young magician. Bruce Cervon's Castle Notebooks have sold for as high as $600 on eBay recently. Due to demand, the publisher decided only one per customer. Nevertheless, Volume 2 sold out within weeks of its announcement. Further volumes are expected in the next two years.

June 14–NYC: Ben Robinson entertains young and older at a recent celebration in downtown Manhattan. Robinson was contacted by a patry giver who decided the magician's talents could be well used to make the evening more enjoyable.

At right he is seen making sure that the younger members of the family were entreated to magical entertainment with cards, rings and silk scarves.

At left, the magician is seen doing more close-up magic before the dinner served for almost 30. During the dinner hour, the magician presented a 55-minute stage show where several of the audience participated.

Two hours of magic presented at the witching hour, and then the magician and assistant stayed downtown and fulfilled their midnight dinner reservation at Pastis!

May 16–NYC: Two shows in one day is all in a day's work for New York City's number one magician, Ben Robinson. First, in the afternoon he was interviewed at length for a film on his opinions of a friend's illness that has miraculously reversed after being a near fatal prognosis. Next, hours later, in the evening, a great celebration. The magician entertained at the birthday celebration of Portico New York head, and acclaimed artist and art dealer, Steven Lowy. The artist has seen the magician many times, being married to hit recording artist Marina Belica (October Project), so this time the artist fooled the magician by surreptitiously removing a napkin from the magician's waistcoat!

May 15–NYC: A fan sent this in to Ben Robinson at this website, after his recent show in Boston. It is a rabbit and hat on top of a cupcake. We thankyou for this and hope you made it disappear with glee.

May 4–New York City: Ben Robinson meets one of his heros, the folkloric figure, Philippe Petit, the man who walked a wire between the towers of Notre Dam, The Sydney Harbor Bridge and the World Trade Center...all illegally in his famous trois coup...rebel poetry live, amazing and enlightening the world to what is possible. Petit appeared at the premier of the James Marsh film MAN ON WIRE (due to open in August) and then gave two street shows in his old haunt of Washington Square Park, including brilliant magic that delighted everyone including the magician! Petit was intrigued to meet Robinson, because it was Robinson who, amidst the attacks of 9/11, first thought of and posted an on line tribute to Petit as military planes circled Manhattan. You can read this piece "WTC Remembered" on our Writer page.

April 24–New York City: Ben Robinson is seen in portrait by New York photographer Arielle Doneson. The two collaborated on a new shot for Robinson which shows miniature rabbits in hats growing out of each of the magician's fingers! Surely such a shot has never been done before and while Robinson promises new wonders for his audiences, his fingers will be producing rabbits, not turning into them, for the meantime.

Upcoming are several prominent performances along the East coast and getting ready for many repeat engagements this summer. Watch for Ben Robinson on an upcoming special on PBS. Stay tuned.

April 5 & 19–Edison, NJ and New York City: Two shows for Indian families who both loved the mixture of saris and paper hats, that were made from nowhere! Here pictured are two young ladies from the latter performance that embraced the magician's magic so much that they followed him around for three hours wanting more and more!
Ben Robinson "Triumphs" in Boston at AANE Gala April 12 - 13, 2008

Booked nearly one year in advance, Ben Robinson brought his full evening show to the Newton Marriot Hotel for the Asperger's Association of New England, and thier evening called "The Grand Illusion." The master magician added an extra workshop for the kids the following day where a fun time (and ice cream) was had by all. Robinson also put his services up to auction and will therefore be making a repeat appearance in the New England area this Fall. Magic became the most universal of arts as the magician taught others to fall through business cards, make other cards change places impossibly and finally some Houdini legerdemain where knots from a rope dissolved in the audience's hands. Ben Robinson appears and disappears in Europe!

March 16-23: London and Paris

Three countries, two continents, three cities -- one week. That's the kind of schedule Ben Robinson kept in late March when he barnstormed Europe meeting and greeting magicians and corporate audiences in a whirlwind tour that included dinner with superstar TV and stage magician Paul Daniels and his wife Debbie McGee (seen above with Robinson and wife) at The Ivy restaurant in London's West End.

Actually the magicians met on two of three nights that Robinson was in London, swapped illusions, and Robinson brought some historic and rare material for one of Daniels' shows, to celebrate Daniels' upcoming 70th birthday! Amazingly, this group has now met in London, Las Vegas and New York in just under two years.

At left, Robinson appears in Paris just outside one of the most famous theatres in the world, the Comedie Francaise, just prior to his performance (elsewhere) that night.

After three shows in New York, London and Paris, the magician needed a break from his working vacation, but trhere's no rest for the weary. April Fool's not only celebrates the magician's father's birthday (who would have been 90), but a new tour and TV projects are upcoming. Stay tuned.

March 6–Canada: Ben Robinbson has joined the internationally known Chaplin impersonator Paul Romhany in his well-attended blog The Romhany Report with an article targeted to magicians. It spotlights Robinson's vast experience of being in magic for 40 years and serving audiences internationally since 1984. Titled "What They Want"the article centers on modern audiences and their desires. It is the first of several articles to come.

And on the writer front, Ben Robinson has received the 2008 Howard Bbamman trophy of a 19th century conjurer, we are told, from the International Brotherhood of Magicians for an article titled "Al Flosso: An American Original" he submitted to their magazine, The Linking Ring, in 1996 and was published in 2007! (BTW, you can read this article in our Master's Gallery, see lower right.)

Who says artists are never rewarded? We offer our thanks to the editorial staff of The Linking Ring for their choice and look forward to seeing what we are told is a beautiful trophy.

January 21–New York City: Ben Robinson makes his third appearance at the Jewish Home for the Aged on West 106th Street. At the conclusion of his 40-minute performance for the intimate audience ranging in ages from three and a half to well over 100, one man, a retired Lt. General with the Air Force said, "You, Mr. Robinson, epitomize the professional magician in carriage, poise, surprise and deportment. People will simply not believe me when I speak of your wonders." Booked months in advance because of his reviews from his appearance last Halloween, sponsored by the New York Junior league, this appearance was made possible by the generous donation of Citibank and the people at New York Cares.
