Once a year Ben Robinson lectures for magic gatherings
and shares his views on modern and ancient magic. Ben Robinson
considers the art of illusion a genuine art form, like dance,
classical music or sculpture. He has had a career of breaking
new ground; taking magic where it had only been thought of as
children's entertainment.
One patron at Circa
Tabac (NYC) said after witnessing Ben Robinson's perfomance,
"I have a whole new
appreciation of magic as an art. I have never seen something
so close-up, so well done. Thank you. You have given me a genuinely
new experience."
The goal of these
notes: to share the insight Ben Robinson has gained as one of
the world's top professional magicians with those struggling
to develop their own approach. These
15-page notes cover the perversion of fame, selfless perfomance,
where a magician can work, what is wrong with TV magic, the goal
of the win-win-win situation and much much more.
No tricks are taught
per se, but you will be a better magician from the deep insights
presented in these notes. One patron wrote after his November
2003 lecture at Denny & Lee's "Ben Robinson is perhaps
the greatest magician I have ever seen. Now I know why, and his
lecture was first rate, compelling me to think of things I have
never thought of before concerning the art of magic. Bravo!"
Ben Robinson has taught magic
to Howard Stern, Diane Keaton, Spain's Trade Commissioner, many
corporate executives, and had one student for ten years!
FISM Grand Prix World Champion
Magician Johnny
Ace Palmer says,
"Ben Robinson is a world
class magician."
